Service Information A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday April 17, 2010 at the United Methodist Church of Whitefish Bay at 819 East Silver Spring Drive. The family will greet friends at the church from 10:00 AM until the time of service.
Memorials The family requests that remembrances in Rosemary’s name be made to Heifer International or the American Cancer Society.

Rosemary of Milwaukee, died after a brief battle with pancreatic cancer on April 5, 2010. Rosemary was born in Chicago on 2-4-1941, the only child of Ben and Rose Van Caro. She grew up in Chicago and attended Mundelein College before leaving to start a family. She later returned to earn her degree from the College of St. Catherine in St. Paul, MN. She went on to earn a Masters from University of Minnesota.
Rosemary had a successful career in substance abuse counseling and went on to be Program Director of a pain management clinic in Minneapolis for 12 years. After marrying her second husband, M.E. “Jake” Jacobson, she became an outplacement consultant, assisting employees in their transition to new careers, and later went on to start her own consulting company. Rosemary’s many professional accomplishments were matched by her numerous civic, charitable and volunteer activities.
Rosemary was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend to many and her kindness, compassion, and joie de vivre will be sadly missed. Rosemary is survived by her husband of 19 years, Jake Jacobson, her four children Kevin Sweeney, Dennis Sweeney and Michael Sweeney, and Kathleen Taylor, and their spouses and children Barbara, Jack and Henry Sweeney; Kiyomi Sweeney; Derenda, Charlotte and William Sweeney; Chris, Alexander and Emily Taylor; her step-son and wife Paul and Ellie Jacobson; her step-granddaughter and family Molly, Mike & Nora Grossman; and step-grandson Mike Jacobson.
