Service Information Visitation will take place on Wednesday, May 12, from 5:00 to 7 PM at Feerick Funeral Home followed by a service at 7:00 PM with military honors. Interment will be private for the family.

Newspaper Notice Died peacefully on May 3, 2010 at the age of 88. Longtime resident of Glendale. Beloved husband of Mary Elizabeth Brown (nee Hunsley) Adams and of the late Betty “Sue” (nee Murphy) Adams. Loving father of Susan Diane (John) Renfro of Bryn Mawr, PA, Christopher Charles Adams and Kinney Morris Adams both of Milwaukee. Dear brother of Colonel Charles Milton (Cindy) Adams, U.S. Army, (Ret.) and of the late Dorothy Ann (nee Adams) Kinney. Proud grandfather of Christopher John Renfro. Further survived by other relatives and good friends.
Will was born in Amarillo, Texas and graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy in June 1944 (Class of 1945). He served on the USS Black (DD-666) in the Pacific Theater during the final year of World War II. Will was eventually promoted to Captain (0-6) in the submarine force during a 30-year Navy career (1944-74). During the Cold War, LCdr. Adams served as the Executive Officer and Chief Navigator on the USS Triton (SSRN-586), the first and only nuclear submarine to circumnavigate the globe entirely submerged following Ferdinand Magellan’s historic route (Feb. 16-May11, 1960). He was the Commanding Officer of the diesel submarine USS Pickerel (SS-524), and later the nuclear submarines USS Plunger (SSN-595) and the USS Thomas A. Edison (SSBN –610). After retiring, Will worked 13 years for the Wisconsin Electric Power Company and then oversaw the construction of the Bradley Center. He had a true love for his family and life and enjoyed traveling and meeting new people. Will was a true explorer at heart; he will be deeply missed by all whose lives he touched.
