Service Information A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 22, at 10:00 AM, at St. Christopher’s Episcopal Church, 7845 N. River Road, River Hills. Family will greet friends following the service. Interment will be private for the family.

Newspaper Notice Entered into Eternal Life on May 9, 2010 at the age of 97. Resident of Cedar Grove and Shorewood. Baptismal name: Merlyn Friederich Karl. Born: April 23, 1913 son of Henry F. W. Lindert and Anna (nee Schwirtz) Lindert, brother of Herbert O.H. Lindert and Victor J.H. Lindert. Married Patricia C. McLaughlin on May 7, 1942 who preceded him in death on June 7, 2000. On July 20, 2002, in the Washington National Cathedral’s Bethlehem Chapel, he married Lynn Ray Laun who survives him. Also survived by three sons: Henry Arthur (Nina), Thomas Carl (Susan), John Frederick (Wendy); daughter, Ann Marie Hoffmann (Robert); Lynn’s three children: Stephen G. Ray (Sharon), Cynthia Ray Walker (Garret W.) and Lisa A. Laun, nine grandchildren, and four great grandchildren. Also survived by niece, Mrs. Marlys Lindert and special friend, David E. Bakkom.
Dr. Lindert attended elementary and high school in Norwood Young America, MN, Hamline University, University of Minnesota, B.S. and B.A.; U. of MN Medical School, M.B. and M.D.; Internship and residency, Milwaukee County General Hospital, 1938-1942. In 1942, he was commissioned a U.S. Naval Officer, reporting for active duty at U.S. Naval Hospital, IL. For two years, he served on active sea duty (U.S.S. Helm, DD388) assigned to the Seventh Pacific Fleet and the Fourth Pacific Fleet, (Halsey’s Tack Force). After sea duty, he served as Senior Medical Officer, U.S. Naval Armory, Chicago, IL. Remained on Inactive Reserve and served as consultant lecturer, Great Lakes Naval Hospital.
He was visiting clinic lecturer for Chicago’s Presbyterian Hospital. In 1946, he was co-founder of The Clinic of Internal Medicine, S.C., in Wauwatosa, WI. He was Associate Clinical Professor of Medicine for Marquette University Medical School (Medical College of Wisconsin) from 1946 until 1976.
