Newspaper Notice Entered into Eternal Life on June 19, 2010, at the age of 100. Longtime resident of Shorewood. Beloved wife for 33 years of the late Curtis Francis Sisson. Loving mother of Susan (Ed) Pohle (Thiensville, WI), Bonny (Bill) Stilwell (Concord, NC), Heather (Don) Fox (Aiken, SC) and Sally (Steve) Stevens (Naples, FL).
Adele Singles Sisson was born in Whitefish Bay, Wisconsin in 1910. She was a well known volunteer throughout the community. Adele Sisson lived in the heart of Shorewood with the village in her heart. One of the hardest projects and most time consuming yet most satisfying was the saving of the Shorewood Village Hall. Through her tenacity and sheer will to protect this historic site she was successful in having this building registered as a nationally recognized historic site for Wisconsin. At the rededication of the Village Hall, Mrs. Sisson was recognized for her efforts as well as her contribution of a flag which flew over the U. S. Capitol recognizing her success. Mrs. Sisson continued to monitor the needs of Shorewood and could be found frequently attending the village hall board meetings. Subsequently, she established a Care Bear program for the Shorewood Ambulance Service serving the needs of children with a comforting bear should the need arise for ambulance transportation. Mrs. Sisson also spent her time as a skilled oil painter of local scenes with a preference for famous landmark barns.
Mrs. Sisson is survived by her nine grandchildren: Mr. Steven Pohle (Thiensville, WI), Mrs. Kristin Sims (Mequon, WI), Mr. William Stilwell, Jr. (Alexandria, VA), Mrs. Heather Ferro (Mason, OH), Mr. Trent Fox (Chicago, IL), Mr. Randy Fox (St. Michael, MN), Mr. Tyler Stevens (Westport, CT), Mr. Brooks Stevens (London, England), and Mrs. Lindsay Stevens Gardner (River Hills, WI), and eleven great-grandchildren.
The family wishes to extend their sincere appreciation and heartfelt gratitude to Jeannie and Sue at New Castle Place for all their love and
