Service Information
A celebration of Dot’s life will be held Saturday, November 26 at 2:00 PM at New Castle Place, 12600 N. Port Washington Rd., Mequon with a reception to follow. Interment will be private for the family at Forest Home Cemetery.

Smart, Dorothy “Dot” (nee Alvord) Entered Eternal Life Wednesday, November 23, 2011 at the age of 94. Preceded in death by her husband Walter “Bill” Smart of 68 years on July 29, 2009. Dear mother of Donald Smart, Bradford (Mary) Smart, and the late Claudia (Thomas) John. Dot is further survived by six grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, one niece and nephew, other relatives and friends. Dot lived in Whitefish Bay, Wisconsin from 1958 until moving to Newcastle Place in Mequon, WI in 2003. She was very active volunteer in the community which included 26 years with the Milwaukee Zoo, 15 years with Interfaith, Milwaukee Children's Hospital, and League of Women Voters. She was a member of North Shore Congregational Church, Whitefish Bay Women's Club, and College Endowment. A major interest throughout her adult life was tennis and competitive Bridge.
